This FTE provides on-site support and service to maintaining the critical Radiology PACS system in use atMacomb hospital and it's surrounding clinics. In addition, this position also supports and maintains the Radiology Information System (currently Paragon, future Cerner) which interfaces with the PACS.

Essential Functions:
• Ensure timely and complete capture of DICOM digital image data into the PACS
• Coordinate with Systems Services the monitoring of network transmission and data integrity
• Repair broken exams/studies and ensure the integrity of the data in the system
• Function as a contact to vendors included in the PACS both during the implementation of the system, upgrades and ongoing support
• Working with appropriate customer staff to develop and document operating procedures (such as downtime procedures, workstations maintenance) and workflow processes, and helping to ensure those processes are effective and followed
• Provides training to clients on new or changed applications, implementation requirements, procedure modifications and troubleshooting of problems
• Serves as liaison among internal groups, and between the organization and vendors regarding all digital imaging initiatives
• Provide on-call services in support of the system

• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Healthcare Administration or equivalent work experience
• Three plus years’ experience in healthcare systems preferably in support of radiology services/systems
• Strong project management and communication skills required
• Experience with desktop applications and hardware
• Experience with business process re-engineering and workflow analysis required
• Ability to think critically, assess input and develop possible solutions to identified or potential problems
• Verbal and written communication skills for a diverse customer base including, executives, technical and administrative staff
• Excellent analytical skills to discuss problems, analyze solutions/options, evaluate and enable improvement of processes
• Superior organization and planning skills

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with Merge PACS
• Experience with Cerner RadNet
