Job Description

We have a new exciting permanent/fixed term contract full/part time post in .... covering mainly sites in and around ... area. Position is peripatetic.Opportunities to work full time , part time or term time !

The main purpose of the role is to provide comprehensive and effective Occupational Health services to employee groups across different contracts:

· To contribute towards the achieving of Regional and National Business Objectives
· Ensuring that high professional standards and quality considerations are maintained on a consistent basis in line with best practice
· Give appropriate advice on the management of sick absence and plans for rehabilitation to management
· Provide Occupational Health advice to any client who has a continuing underlying medical condition or disability and liase with managers and others as appropriate
· Conduct health assessments and reviews as required (eg., pre-employment, driving fitness, food handling, etc)
· Provide advice to managers on issues relating to the working environment in accordance with existing legislation and within the framework of existing policies, including redeployment and work modifications by way of health surveillance/workplace assessments
· Provide health education on relevant issues, promoting a healthy lifestyle in order to minimise health related absence from work
· Anticipate and meet the changing needs of customers for healthcare services by combining professionalism, objectivity and calm in an atmosphere of trust, enthusiasm and business awareness
Influence customers to take up non-core services, therefore contributing to the growth of new business
· Maintain registration and continuous professional development by meeting the Post Registration Education and Practice (PREP) standards set by the Nursing and Midwifery Council
Manage own professional competence and accountability, with particular reference to standards within the NMC Code of Professional Conduct
· Represent the organisation externally as required, ensuring that the reputation of the organisation is upheld by appropriate professional behaviour
· Support and contribute to research and regular clinical supervision in order to assist evidence-based practice within a framework of Clinical Governance
· Undertake any ad hoc responsibilities as and when requested by the Regional Manager.

Desired profile

Job Requirements

· Registered General Nurse on first level of Register
· Occupational Health qualification (diploma, degreeor other recognised OH qualification) and industry experience to a minimum of one year
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written)
· Flexible in working practices and able to travel within Region
· Effective user of IT, including effective keyboard skills
· Effective telephone based skills
· High standards of discretion and confidentiality
· Good organisational and time management skills
· Ability to work under own initiative to meet deadlines and to required standards
· Evidence of effective Team working, especially in a multi-disciplinary team
