Job in a nutshell:
If you are an awesome problem solver, and highly self-motivated and self-directed, with keen attention to detail, we’re looking for you! We’re looking for a NOC Engineer that monitor network devices, servers, applications, and other hardware components in real-time. This includes tracking network traffic, performance metrics, and system alerts. This role is responsible for quickly identifying and troubleshooting network disruptions to your best ability before escalating to tiers 2 or 3 support.
Shifts
12-hour shift. Fixed day or night.
Take 4 days off every one week and 3 days the other week!
What will you be doing:
· Adheres to policies, procedures, and standards.
· Collaboration. Work closely with system administrators, network engineers, and other IT professionals to address complex issues and implement changes.
· Receive alerts and notifications from monitoring tools and systems. These alerts could indicate potential problems, outages, or performance issues that need immediate attention.
· Maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, changes, and incident resolutions. This documentation is crucial for future reference and continuous improvement.
· Monitors work progress, informing team leaders, team managers and/or customers of project status, problems or obstacles and workload problems in a timely manner.
· Provides appropriate documentation for scheduling of resources. Creates and maintains system reports such as uptime, utilization, and growth.
· Basic duties include Level 1 and 2 support of all incidents, must respond to all incidents, accept, resolve and or escalate to meet all SLA’s.
· Perform or peer review changes and post change testing.
· Perform escalations to vendors and third parties as required to solve incidents and problems.
· Answer phone calls from vendors, customers, and leadership. Participate in P1 Major Incident (MI) conference bridges with upper management and provide quick and concise updates during outages.
Requirements:
· 3+ years' experience as a Network Operations Center Engineer or in a similar role. Or H.S. Diploma/GED Equivalent, and CCNA or CompTIA Network+ equivalent
· Advanced experience with Cisco routers and switches.
· In-depth knowledge of: BGP, EIGRP, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Telnet, SSH, FTP.
· Experience with applications such as Service Now, SolarWinds, Cisco Prime, Splunk, or Infoblox is not needed but is benefit.
· Experience with Microsoft Office tools and Citrix VDI during day-to-day operations
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Excellent customer facing skills and ability to provide technical descriptions in easy-to-understand terms to customers, coworkers, or supervisors who only speak English.
· Proficient comprehension of the English language
