LEGAL COUNSEL

Job description

The UK&I legal department manages all the legal affairs of Atos in the UK&I GBU. We also implement legal policies as required by the Atos Group. The activity of the legal department is focused in the following areas:
- Contracting – drafting, negotiating and advising in relation to commercial contracts with customers and suppliers;
Disputes and litigation – managing dispute issues under customer contracts and managing all litigation;
Compliance and corporate affairs – all issues of legal compliance including compliance to Companies Acts, regulatory requirements and policies required by Group;
Legal Counsel’s role will be mainly focused on the Contracting area – but there will be opportunities to be involved in other matters.
Job Description
Legal Counsel will be a team member of the UK&I Legal Department
In response to bids and new contracts – legal counsel will review, draft, advise upon and negotiate commercial contracts
Application of Atos’s policies in the set context
Attending internal reviews on contractual matters and giving appropriate advice
Working, in an integrated way, with other functions and business personnel who work on proposals to customer
Being a team player within the legal department
Taking legal training as required by Group legal to enhance skills

Desired profile

Essential / Minimum Criteria
 
Qualified as a solicitor or barrister
 
Relevant experience in Law Firm or In-house legal team
 
Good commercial experience which has involved the drafting and negotiation of commercial contracts;
 
Enjoys engaging in negotiation
Desirable Criteria
Knowledge of the IT services contracts and the general form and structure of commercial contracts in this area
