Job description
The role holder will become part of a wider Financial Crime Unit which aims to be a centre of excellence within the Risk and Assurance function for Atos:
· Prepare the annual MLRO report for submission to Account Leadership Team/FCA.
· Maintain Anti-Money Laundering General Policy and Procedures.
· To ensure that staff are suitably trained and have the requisite level of knowledge to perform their roles, including but not limited to the submission of SARs to SOCA.
· To ensure that Management Information used is of sufficient quantity and quality to enable Head of Regulatory Risk and senior management to actively monitor the level of money laundering risk faced across all its activities and that processes are clearly identified.
· Where necessary to provide accurate advice and guidance to the operational units and technical staff on specific matters relating to anti-money laundering best practice, compliance with relevant legislation, regulations and codes of practice.
· Assess the impact of key regulatory developments, sanctions, industry best practice on current policies and procedures, and ensure that any necessary changes are properly implemented.
· Assist in the liaison with the relevant financial crime authorities e.g. SOCA, in relation to the submission of suspicious activities reports, and any resulting investigations.
· Receive and consider internal disclosures of suspected money laundering or terrorist financing
· Review the work of Financial Crime Analysts (AML/CTF) to ensure that this is complete, fit for purpose and is of sufficient quality and accuracy.
· Assist with delivering tailored training programmes for the operational units.
· Attendance at and participation in project planning and development meetings and workshops. Delivering structured and sound input into discussions concerning their specialist fields in AML/CTF.
· Ad hoc investigations, analysis and reports into incidents or compliance breaches (including fraud where appropriate).
Desired profile
Essential criteria:
· Specialist expertise in Anti Money Laundering regulations preferably gained from the UK financial services sector (e.g. JMLSG). Understanding of FCA compliance and knowledge of the FCA handbook. Good understanding of general financial sector compliance requirements.
· Capacity to review and assess the pre-planned work of junior financial crime colleagues, and the periodic management information provided by operational and technical managers to determine whether Atos remains compliant with relevant legislation, regulations and Codes of Practices. Able to provide constructive feedback and recommendations for improvement where inadequacies are identified.
· Analytical skills to be applied in assessing incidents or compliance breaches and reporting on root causes so that improvements can be introduced to prevent recurrence.
· Ability to work independently or as part of a close team, as required.
· Good communication skills.
· Experience in participating in large-scale, long-term projects.
