Job description

Atos, Europe’s largest IT services company, established a Development and Innovation Centre in Moray (near Forres), Scotland in 2011.
As part of the centre’s continued growth, Atos are currently recruiting graduates to join a Training and Development programme. These graduate roles are part of the application development team, delivering projects across the Atos client base. The successful candidates will gain exposure to working on technology projects across many industry sectors.
This is a full time permanent position based in our site in Forres, Moray. Successful candidates will need to complete SC or if required DV level security clearance to be able to undertake this role.

The team’s remit is to build bespoke software carrying out all aspects of software development including detailed design, build, unit testing, and support through subsequent System Test and UAT phases.  The Moray team is supported by a Design & Development Practice located across the UK adopting industry-leading best practice and tooling.
This is a challenging role where you may work on one or more delivery projects at a time. Atos has further plans to expand the site and we are seeking individuals who wish to start their career in software development. Atos has a long term commitment to the region and is investing heavily in the skills and capabilities of all staff to create a centre of excellence of business technologists.
Currently the team’s primary technology focus is on Java, but other technology streams may be introduced to support business growth. Therefore individuals should ideally have an interest in broadening their understanding of relevant technologies and be keen and motivated to learn.
You will be enrolled on a training programme consisting of classroom, e-learning and self-directed learning, supported by local coaches and mentors. This programme is designed to guide your development through key milestones within a merit-based Career Development Framework.
This training and development programme will provide you with the following:
Industry standard development skills using the latest technologies and frameworks, specifically related to Java / J2EE development projects.
Support and guidance in achieving industry recognised certification.
Experience of working as part of a collaborative team in an iterative development environment incorporating Agile/Scrum practices and techniques.
Applying global development practices to maintain quality and delivery standards in line with industry best practices.
Projects sizes will vary depending on the specific client needs and will touch on numerous industries (e.g. Small project: £150k budget involving 3-5 developers for 3 months, larger projects can have multi-million pound budgets, with long term timescales).
