An exciting opportunity for an experienced Education & Activities Manager looking for a new challenge!
We recruit for an expanding group who are looking to find a driven and hardworking individual to join their expanding Leisure sector and become an integral part of their Activities team for a new location.
Your duties will included but not be limited to the following:
- Oversee and manage the operation of a leading educational and leisure activities centre
- Manage the resource to enable delivery of educational and leisure activities.
- Create and maintain an ethos of lifelong learning and skills for children, teenagers and adults.
- Provide the lead for creative flair and innovation for each educational training and development programme.
- Work in accordance with national legislation attaining the highest awards for excellence in the education and activities sectors.
- Manage and maintain the established sector standard of child and adult protection, health & safety and hygiene practices.
- Work to agreed budgets to deliver the approved return on investment.
- Lead, motivate and develop the education and activities team.
- To work in partnership with the public and private education sector, local authorities, clubs and charities, promoting the work and philosophy of Kids Academy.
- Recruiting, training and supervising a team of staff including instructors.
- Register of instructors training courses and qualifications.
- Instructing groups in specialist areas.
- Managing the enquiries and booking system.
- Planning and organising appropriate outdoor activity programs.
- Ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
- Managing budgets & financial administration.
- Developing new activities.
- Liaising with group leaders, school managers and teachers.
- Dealing with queries, complaints, accidents and emergencies.
- Producing educational materials.
- Liaison with marketing, promoting and marketing the business.
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation.
The successful candidate will have the relevant experience displayed below:
- A degree or relevant qualifications in business management, sports science, physical education, recreation management, leisure studies, health management or tourism.
- A postgraduate qualification in recreation management or outdoor education.
- Formal instructor's qualification in specialist activity and to have worked as an outdoor pursuit’s instructor.
Desirable:
- Understanding of modern trends in education and outdoor activities
- Knowledge of Disability Discrimination Act, Equal Opportunities, Health & Safety and Employment Legislation.
