Job description

Assystem are currently working with an internationally renowned major OEM and are currently looking to recruit an Automotive Development Engineer for a contract based in Bedfordshire.

The purpose of the role is to support the growth of the European Accessory business through both development of new accessory parts and quality improvements for existing accessory parts.

As an Accessory Development Engineer, you will be responsible for:
*Development of new and innovative accessory items, including personalisation and exterior plastics.
*To lead Warranty improvements from Engineering side to support recovery of Warranty cost to suppliers through root cause analysis.
*To study and monitor implementation of countermeasures from Engineering side.
*Identify, study and delivery of new technical cost reduction items from Engineering side.

Essential Skills Required:
*CAD experience (preferably NX)
*Automotive product development experience (preferably injection moulding parts)
*Detailed understanding of problem solving techniques e.g. Kepner Tregoe, Six-Sigma, Taniguchi method.
*Minimum 2 years' experience within Automotive Engineering or similar discipline

Minimum Education Required
*Bachelors' Degree with an Automotive or Product Design discipline
