Job Title: Senior Analyst - Impairment - SAS/SQL
Location: London
Salary: £31,000 - £42,200 plus bonus and benefits
We are looking for a strong Analyst to join the Impairment team of a new retail bank. The primary purpose of the role is to ensure the production of monthly impairment results within the bank’s governance framework and compliance with its credit policy.
As a Senior Analyst – Impairment you will be responsible for:
- The production of monthly unsecured impairment results, including variance and trend analysis and business interpretation
- The oversight of impairment models and processes, and calculation of post model adjustments where required
- The production of quarterly regulatory reporting (FSA015, IFRS7, FINREP returns)
- The delivery of a suite of business review packs and delivering continuous improvements to all elements for impairment
- Supporting key projects including IFRS9
- Supporting Portfolio Management and Product Finance teams on impact/trend analysis
- On the job coaching and development of junior analyst staff (e.g. design of analysis, problem solving techniques, SAS / Excel programming, MI automation)
- Contributing to the wider Capital & Impairment team through best practice sharing and collaborate to achieve success for the wider team
What do you need to apply?
You will be highly numerate and a logical thinker, with a numerical degree (Mathematics / Statistics / Economics etc.) at 2:1 or above, and have proficient programming skills in SAS/SQL and VBA/Excel.
You will have an excellent track record of working within credit risk (at least 18 months) in retail banks in an analytical capacity.
