About the role

The Technology Services Group provides workflows, applications and platforms to all engineering product groups across ARM. Our remit is to drive and co-ordinate verification methodologies and platforms that can be used across all product groups to drive improvements in deterministic delivery and quality.

We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated staff emulation engineer to join a fast growing team and deliver emulation capability to engineering project teams across ARM. You will play a key role both with hands-on project work and creating and deploying new methodologies within the team.

You will be working in our Austin, TX office within a team that supports emulation activities across Europe, US and India. Given the span of the team, there may be opportunity for travel to other sites during your work.

What will you be accountable for?

The role covers development and deployment of emulation methodologies as well as support for emulation users. You will be responsible for:

• Requirements capture, specification, development and deployment of emulation compilation, execution and debug workflows

• Supporting users encountering issues with emulation workflows and emulation platform hardware and software

• Developing new features, improvements and optimizations to emulation workflows

• Collaboration with vendors through evaluations, optimizations and continuous improvements

• Use of key metrics to drive improvements in emulator usage, workflows and driving vendor engagements

Job Requirements

What skills, experience and qualifications do I need?

You will require a proven track record with emulation-based verification methodologies including ownership of a suitably complex emulation workflow environment. You must be comfortable developing emulation-based workflows to make the best use of EDA tools and platforms, and have experience of at least one emulator platform.

Essential

·  A deep understanding of emulation platforms and system architectures to enable high throughput IP verification, and debug/triage workflows
·  A good understanding of verification methodologies and flows for functional verification of complex IP
·  Experience of supporting emulation users
·  Experience of collaborating with EDA vendors
·  Strong scripting skills (UNIX shell scripting, Python or Perl) – being able to develop scripting to support new flows.
·  Experience of “scaled-out” deployment of technology across a global organization
·  Experience working and communicating with remote design centers.
·  Strong communication skills and ability to work well as part of a team.

Desirable

·  Knowledge of C/C++
·  Willingness to travel to other ARM sites globally
