ARM is recruiting for a new RFIC design centre in Lund, Sweden, within the Wireless BU (WBU), to develop licensable radio IP solutions for use in Narrow-Band Internet of Things (NB-IoT) applications. You will work together with a group of highly experienced engineers and researchers who will develop a System on-Chip (SoC) solution within the ARM Cordio product portfolio, supporting the multiband NB-IoT wireless standard. The SoC includes a complete RF, digital and software solution.
ARM is looking for a dedicated, self-motivated RF/Mixed signal/system verification engineer, with a few years´ experience from a relevant field, preferably in the wireless industry, to work with radios to drive the new IoT wave. Specifically, ARM seeks creative, self-starting, highly motivated individuals able to operate in a team driven environment and willing to take the initiative for successful completion of team and individual goals.
What will I be accountable for?
As an RF/Analog/system verification engineer at ARM you would be involved in all phases of the development of the NB-IoT SoC, from verification of basic RF performance to conformance testing of the entire system versus the 3GPP standard. Besides being responsible for the verification of the SoC you would also be managing the measurement lab and handle all contacts with external suppliers of measurement equipment. Within this role, there will be opportunities to interact with applications engineering, RF-systems engineering, digital-IC engineering, software engineering, and worldwide customers to help capture and deliver on performance requirements.
Role & Responsibilities
· Build-up of state of the art IC verification lab for NB-IOT SoCs.
· Responsible for all contacts with suppliers of measurement hardware and software equipment.
· Writing of equipment control scripts for automated performance testing.
· Verify RF and SoC performance using both manual and automated measurements.
· Collaborate with IC designers for evaluating simulated and measured performance.
· Participate in schematic and layout design reviews for PCBs
· Develop and implement test plans for lab characterization of fabricated devices.
· Document all verification work and participate in the writing of datasheets and application notes for customers
Job Requirements
Required Skills and Experiences
· BSc/MSc in Electrical Engineering focused on areas such as analog/RF/digital design and verification.
· Good knowledge of RF measurement and radio communication theory.
· Excellent knowledge of RF and digital measurement instrumentation for wireless communication standards.
· Good knowledge of wireless communication standards
· Experience from measurement automation using MATLAB, Python or LabVIEW
· Proven team player that enjoys cooperation within the local RF IC design team as well as with other functions within ARM worldwide.
· Good communication skills
Desired Skills and Experiences
· Experience with conformance testing equipment
· Good knowledge of digital control interfaces.
· Experience from PCB design tools, e.g. Cadence Allegro or Eagle
