Introduction
This role is for a Principal Memory Design Engineer position in the Europe Physical Design team at Cambridge site. Working as part of the Cambridge Physical design team means working on leading edge high-performance, high-density, low-power and ultra low-power memory generators which are optimized for each silicon technology.
Principal Memory Design Engineer – Physical Design
ARM memory products have been used in circuits running over 3 GHz and are in production or development from 180nm to 16/14nm semiconductor processes for various foundries and Silicon partners. Our circuit group comprises some of the industry's leading experts in deep submicron circuit design and design for manufacturing (DFM) techniques.
Job Requirements
Education and Qualification
• Bachelors, Masters or PhD (computer science or electronics engineering) or equivalent with a good academic record
• Experience in memory design or related circuit design
Essential Skills and Experience
Proved execution track record in relevant field
• Motivation to work both unsupervised, as part of a project team or leading a team
• Ability to express ideas and communicate effectively
• Good inter-personal skills
• Attention to detail
• Willingness to be flexible and accept new challenges
• Understanding and/or experience with the following: circuit/layout w/ submicron technologies (90nm or smaller), technology tradeoffs, design for manufacturability layout techniques, low power circuit design, and familiarity with Cadence Virtuoso (DFII, Opus) would be helpful
• Understanding or an ability to learn a wide variety of industry standard modelling formats including: Liberty (CCS and NLM), Verilog, LEF, Spice, ECSM, and CDB
• Experience with other EDA tools
• Programming or scripting experience
• Coding, modifying, or reading DRC/LVS runsets
• Use of UNIX and shell programming
• Some knowledge of silcon processing and deep sub-micron effects
