Internship Chandler (Maricopa County) IT development
Job description
Job Description
About the role
We are seeking highly motivated students pursuing their graduate degrees to work in our CPU group as an intern. The successful candidate will work as an integral part of the CPU implementation team, by providing valuable feedback to the RTL teams, or to assist in the silicon tape out of one or more of our development platforms.
As a CPU Implementation intern, you will be part of a small and talented Chandler-based CPU physical design team where you can make a significant contribution. You will contribute to implementation techniques that result in the best power efficiency, highest performance, and lowest cost for ARM processor cores. You will be responsible for synthesis, place & route, static timing closure, and power analysis. You will also be responsible for helping benchmark ARM core implementations, suggesting improvements, new implementation techniques, improved synthesis, place & route flows, as well as analyzing and documenting the results & flows for internal and external partners. Your role will also include exploring the latest process technologies and developing ways to exploit their strengths and mitigate their weaknesses.
Job Purpose The CPU group develops low power, high performance microprocessors that address various market segments in the industry. The CPU implementation intern will work on the development of ARM’s microprocessors. ARM’s implementation team uses a synthesized flow incorporating techniques to get the optimal power/performance trade-off for a given CPU design.
