Graduate Hardware Engineer - Graphics
Hardware engineers within our graphics team have responsibilities that cover all areas of the design and verification process: working closely with customers, architectural design, implementation, writing specifications, design and simulation, verification of functionality, generating deliverables and maintenance of designs.
Assignments in our graphics group during the first year normally change every 2-4 months, depending on the status of the ongoing projects. This means our graduates gain a wider understanding of different aspects of development, and allows them to choose which role fits best. Currently there are openings in the following teams:
- Hardware Design & Verification
- Physical Implementation
Job Requirements
Are you a good fit for ARM?
In order to be considered, you will need a good university degree in computer science or electronic engineering ideally. Other science graduates will be considered with relevant experience.
Essential skills that we look for in a successful candidate include:
• Understanding of microprocessor fundamentals.
• Programming language, such as C, Python or Java.
• Use of Linux and shell programming
• Motivation to work both unsupervised and as part of a project team.
• Good English communication skills, oral and written.
It is also beneficial if you also have the following skills or experience:
• Familiarity with high-level simulation language, such as VHDL or Verilog.
• Some microprocessor, ASIC systems or HDL and Synthesis design experience.
• Experience with hardware design verification using simulation or formal techniques.
• Knowledge of the principles of 3D graphics.

Expected start date is summer of 2016 but, in some cases, we can consider an earlier start.
