Job description

Job Description

ARM is looking for a skilled and motivated engineer to join the team that is modelling ARM’s next generation architectures and devices. You will be creating C++ software models of leading edge ARM technologies that will power future systems in markets such as data centres, mobile communications, and Internet of Things (IoT).

You will be joining an experienced multinational development team located in Cambridge, UK. The team is responsible for creating and supporting high speed simulation models of ARM processors and embedded systems. These models are used internally to aid IP design and software development, and are also delivered to our OEM and Silicon Partners. The models are distributed with configuration and analysis tools, and can be integrated into standard SystemC and RTL environments.

Job Purpose

You will be creating highly efficient C++ simulation models of ARM architectures and devices that can be used to emulate the behaviour of future ARM-based embedded systems. This will involve co-operation with ARM architects and product development engineers to ensure the models accurately reflect design intent.

Key objectives of this role include:

• Developing, testing, and maintaining high speed software models for ARM’s advanced CPU and system level IP.

• To create Virtual Platforms that can be used for early software development.

• To support internal and external users of ARM models.

• To help produce and execute model development plans in conjunction with project management and engineering peers.

• To contribute to the continuous improvement of ARM modelling methodologies.

• Interaction with ARM development teams working on advanced architectures, hardware design, software design, and validation.
