Job description

Job Description

Job purpose:

The Architecture and Technology Group (ATG) at ARM is responsible for the ARM architectural roadmap, along with supporting technologies and products. You will be part of the ATEG, the engineering group within ATG. We develop Random Instruction Sequence (RIS) tools and associated test template libraries for the verification of CPU designs conforming to ARM architectures. Our particular group provides the test template libraries that can be used by design verification teams to cover a large percentage of their verification needs from bring-up to stress testing so that they can concentrate their efforts on implementation-specific features of their own designs.

What will I be accountable for?

Initial accountabilities might include:

·  Developing or modifying existing RIS stimulus to target testing of specific areas in architecture and/or micro-architecture
·  Gaining an in-depth understanding of the various profiles of ARM architectures so that you can support new architectural updates with targeted test stimuli
·  Devising and developing tools for workflow and quality improvements
·  Debugging regression fails and fixing test generation issues with the RIS tools that we develop
·  Understanding coverage metrics and developing stimuli to fill gaps in coverage
·  Supporting design verification teams to provide custom tests for areas not covered by the base library products

Job Requirements

What skills, experience and qualifications do I need?

Required Experience:

·  Course work and/or internship should include some hands-on CPU design, testbench development or exposure to design verification methodologies
·  A completed Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science, or in a related technical field with the appropriate educational or industry experience

Technical Attributes

·  In-depth knowledge of computer architecture
·  C/C++ knowledge beyond the introductory level
·  Exposure to assembly language programming
·  Familiarity with scripting languages such as Perl or Python

General Attributes

·  Demonstrate enthusiasm, drive and diligence
·  Work well in a collaborative team environment
