Everyone knows Argos, but did you also know that we are now part of Sainsbury's group and we're the second largest digital retailer in the UK? That's thanks in no small part to our Fast Track Delivery Service, which allows our customers to get same day delivery across 20,000 products – an industry first.

Here's a chance to join us in a brand new team as we strive for greater heights for our customers. In our Regional Fulfilment Centre we aim to give our customers more choice (53,000 products to be precise) faster – this really puts the customer at the heart of our network.

We have a number of roles for 16, 24 & 32 hours per week on a fixed term contract basis until the end of January 2020 and there are a variety of shifts available. 6.00am - 2.00pm, 10.00am - 6.00pm, 2.00pm - 10.00pm, 6.00pm - 2.00am and 10.00pm - 6.00am.

You would receive £8.62 per hour plus a £1.50 overnight allowance where applicable.

What you'll be doing

Your role will be to give customers more of what they want, when they want it, and we need the right kind of talent to achieve this. Successful candidates will be picking, packing and loading products accurately and quickly so that they reach customers in perfect condition.

What's involved?

Life's too short to hang about and customers want to shop when they want, so the site is open 24 hours per day, 7 days a week. We have a range of full and part time shift patterns available covering our full operating hours; all on permanent contracts.

What you'll need

To join us, you'll need to be customer focused and a true team player. You will help create customer memories of Argos so you'll need to understand the products you are handling anything from a kid's birthday present to items for a new home – and you'll want to make sure customers get their purchases on time and in perfect condition. It would be ideal if you've worked in this type of environment before, but don't worry if you haven't as you'll be fully trained. Customer focus, good communication skills, an eye for detail and a can-do attitude are must-haves.

As a real team player, you'll get on brilliantly with your teammates, and always be willing to lend a hand. You'll also be excited about being involved in this new venture, and be keen to learn, and contribute your ideas on how we can make things run like clockwork.

What we offer

As well as the chance to work in this great centre, and learn new skills, we'll also offer you a permanent contract, a competitive salary, a supplement for night working and great benefits. You'll receive a discount on all Argos, Sainsbury's and Habitat goods. You'll also enjoy 24 days' holiday.

We know that candidates may be put off applying for a job unless they can tick every box. We also know that sometimes your availability may not fit the exact schedule we're advertising, and while we can't accommodate every flexible working request we are happy to be asked. So if you are excited about working with us and think you can do much of what we are looking for but aren't sure if you are 100% there yet… why not apply and see how it goes?

Here at Sainsbury's Argos we're a proud equal opportunities employer that values diversity at every level of our business. Inclusion and Diversity are fundamental to our culture and values, fostering an innovative, collaborative and fast paced work environment that means we can build a better future for our colleagues and our customers.
