Job description

The Senior Data Architect will work across a domain such as commercial or supply chain providing guiderails, definitions and designs to support empowered teams responsible for delivering data products and systems. They work in a culture that encourages teams to innovate, collaborate, learn and take ownership within agreed frameworks.

More about the role

Own and develop the data modelling principles, standards and tools across all of the teams
Provide data expertise across all of the teams
Work with a variety of colleagues including Product Owners, Principal Engeers, Architects and the Engineering community to ensure the best data solutions are delivered
Drive alignment, quality and consistency of data model assets across all of the teams
Ensure data models are documented, communicated, updated and centrally managed
Work closely with other architects to agree on various critical architecture design decisions which in turn drive/impacts the data model/data architecture.

Planning ahead and working with product and business teams to prioritise /shape the work of engineers across the domain.

Influencing teams across the domain, who have autonomy and responsibility to deliver outcomes themselves. This means influencing ways of work, identifying innovates ideas quickly and sharing these widely, influencing others to adopt components that help deliver outcomes faster. 
Being curious to understand new ideas and emerging thinking across the organisation and externally, investing time in their own learning. 


More about you

Experienced senior Data Modeller, Data Architect or Solution Designer
Experienced in Data Warehousing/Analytic end to end architecture
In-depth expertise in Data Modelling, including Conceptual, Logical and Physical modelling
Experienced in domain driven design approaches supported by knowledge of different modelling methodologies
Advocate of agile/lean delivery methodologies 
Strong influencing and communication skills
Knowledgeable in cloud database technologies and how these can be utilised to drive effective data product delivery
