As a Recruitment Lead, you’ll be at the centre of our recruitment operation for our Retail Management roles across Sainsbury’s and Argos. You’ll be highly focused on consistency and efficiency, as well as always driving continuous improvement. You’ll work closely with the team of recruiters as well as the recruitment manager to ensure great experiences for our hiring managers and candidates from attraction to job offer, and supporting us finding the very best leadership talent who want to work in good food.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead the efficient running of our day-to-day recruitment operation for our Retail Management roles, including managing Recruiter resource and priorities.   
  • Supporting the recruitment journey for more senior retail leadership roles (e.g. large store management), when required.
  • Support the development of a high-performing and knowledgeable team with a particular focus and passion on delivering brilliant candidate experiences.
  • Continuously review our recruitment journey to ensure it provides a seamless experience for our hiring managers and candidates.
  • Support the implementation of strategic improvements as well as identifying and justifying opportunities for improvement yourself, with a key focus on improving recruitment metrics (E.g. Time to Fill and Conversion rates).
  • Support the delivery of our business transformation plans to support business performance.
  • Support deliver our inclusive recruitment plans.
  • Act as a point of escalation for complex recruitment queries.
  • Proactively support data analytics and the reporting of recruitment trends (using both internal and external data) to benchmark our services and volumes and provide insights to key stakeholders.
  • Continuously reviewing our recruitment processes in line with our applicant tracking system (We use Oracle Recruiting Cloud).

Who you are:

  • A recruitment professional who is passionate about talent experiences and process and understands recruitment as one of the most impactful ways that a People team can impact an organisations success and business outcomes 
  • Experience of working in both professional recruitment environments and of supporting high volume campaigns for more entry level roles with a proven ability to provide engaging candidate experiences at all levels.
  • An understanding of recruitment data (Including KPIs), how to manage it, interpret it and take actions to improve it.
  • A deep understanding of recruitment challenges specific to the food retail sector.
  • Excellent judgement and collaboration skills with the ability to communicate effectively and build strong relationships from store colleagues up to director level.
  • Familiar with inclusive recruitment practises and using these to support marginalised groups whilst ensuring fair recruitment practise.
  • A good understanding of recruitment technology, how to get the best out of our recruitment systems and how these interact with our broader HR platforms.
  • Possess strong knowledge of recruitment practices, technology, and systems that would support recruitment of the very best leaders for our retail teams.

  • Confident in bringing recruitment stories to life through the use of different insights and data sources.
