Division/Dept - Supply Chain
Location - Any SSC & home based
Working Hours - Covering 5 out of 7 days a week (includes weekend working)
Reporting to - Retail Events Manager
In a nutshell
Our Retail events team are responsible for activating local retail events across our entire UK estate of stores. You will analyse and interrogate generated forecasts, collaborating cross functionally and making data informed decisions to drive operational savings and better outcomes for our customer in the delivery of local events. To apply a commercial and customer focus to local events, driving improvements in KPIs and demonstrating cost savings across our cost lines.
What outcomes I need to deliver
- Utilise machine learning, demand forecasting and store ordering systems to support the delivery of planned local events throughout the calendar year at a category, store, cluster and regional level
- Analyse and interrogate outputs from forecast models, surfacing insight to accurately predict volume required, using judgement to ascertain where and when an override at the store level will add adequate value to the broader business and customer. Address and correct the root cause of problems, ensuring first time fixes are put in place.
- Provide pro-active support to stores which experience significant trade impacts during local event periods, maximising availability, waste KPIs and sharing data and analysis to give confidence around decision making
- Draw on your business acumen using analysis and insight to influence, negotiate and where required, challenge retail stakeholders and operational teams, holding them to account
- Collaborate and build effective relationships across supply chain, logistics and retail business units to ensure the best outcome for customers, using CSAT and other customer measures to hold stakeholders to account when it comes to local events
- Actively support supply chain business units during peak times, joining the team to support the delivery of business targets and customer measures
- Ensure individual and team continuous improvement targets are met and KPIs achieved, striving to improve operational savings in the delivery of local events while driving better outcomes for the customer
- Deliver against our support framework for Ad Hoc queries through simple and consistent ways of working, reacting at pace in emergency events and reprioritising workload to support the store and minimise the impact on customers whilst driving to reduce the number of Ad Hoc activities through end-to-end problem solving
- Actively driving store closeness and depot closeness, bringing alive and working to address challenges that the depot team face
- Drive and adhere to consistent, structured processes and ways of working for the activation of events
- Flexibly work across urgent corporate projects across supply chain to drive sustainable solutions for the business

- Brilliant communication and engagement – Ability to deliver brilliant communication business wide to deliver for our customers – essential
- Experience with AI systems, with an understanding of machine learning capabilities and benefits - desirable
- Understanding of supply chain processes and or demand planning/category management across grocery and food is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of Retail operational processes preferred
- Strong attention to detail is critical with proven prioritisation, organisational and problem-solving skills
