The MI Developers are responsible for the development of data and reporting with the Sainsbury’s Group Customer Management Centres (CMC). Through fully leveraging available technology, all outputs will be robust, accurate and always available to end users.

What I need to do

Develop a deep understanding of the business to fully utilise available technology to fulfil MI requirements
Set plans, commit to timescales and support in the prioritisation of MI work load to keep stakeholders informed and to ensure consistent, on time, in full delivery to deadlines
Support the MI lead in the continual development of the CMC data environment, constantly looking for and communicating opportunities to improve capability and maturity in the data estate. Under pin this through:

Maintaining and continually developing detailed knowledge of core MI data technologies and best practice in terms of use of SQL based technologies and large volumes of data
Support the MI Lead in the identification and introduction of new technologies that will enhance capability within the MI and other CMC teams such as Planning & Scheduling and Customer Insight
Identifying and developing effective working relationships with supporting stakeholder teams (for example, IT, CMC Change, our Strategic Outsource Partner)
Provide subject matter expertise with Big Data technologies to provide technical inputs for evolving MI

What I need to know

Strong call centre or customer service background; the role holder will understand what data is needed to drive positive change within the contact management landscape
Strong knowledge & practical application of database query language (SQL) & other programming languages (DAX, R, SAS, Python)
Practical knowledge of Windows Powershell scripting
Practical experience of ETLs and constructing data flows from multiple source systems (Talen’d preferred)
Good knowledge & practical application of database design, development and maintenance
Strong knowledge and experience of at least 2 reporting development tools ideally Power BI, Microstrategy or similar
Good knowledge of cloud storage and configuring a Hadoop infrastructure
