What you'll do
As the Head of Delivery Management in Data, you will play a crucial role in delivering our technology strategy by coordinating, measuring, and managing all delivery within a Director / Senior Head of Engineering portfolio. Working in partnership with key stakeholders – Product, CDO team, other divisional teams, you will ensure that programme outcomes align with strategic priorities across Engineering Families, while providing first-line assurance to the Director of Engineering through effective monitoring of delivery statuses, creating end-to-end work transparency and proactive management of risks, issues, and dependencies. You will also mentor and coach Delivery Managers, drive continuous improvement through post-implementation reviews, and contribute to the professionalisation of the wider Tech delivery practise by leveraging and enhancing technical programme management tools and practises. With your deep understanding of agile principles and experience in delivering technical programmes at scale, you will bring structure, clarity, and reliability to our delivery processes, contributing to the overall success of Sainsbury's Tech.
Who you are
As the Head of Delivery Management for Sainsbury's Tech, you are a seasoned professional with a deep understanding of agile values, software engineering approaches, and delivering technical programmes at scale in an agile and product context. Your leadership skills, combined with your ability to structure and sequence delivery to maximise value, establish you as a trusted partner to director-level stakeholders. Your expertise in technology and software delivery, as well as your experience in leading teams, enables you to navigate complexity and uncertainty while driving the successful delivery of outcomes. With excellent communication and influencing skills, you effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels and ensure the alignment of programme outcomes with strategic priorities. Your strategic focus, strong judgement, and continuous improvement mindset contribute to the success of the delivery management function and the achievement of corporate level outcomes across the Tech Division.
