COMPANY DESCRIPTION

CB&I/AREVA MOX Services, LLC is a consortium of companies based in Aiken, SC and formed to advance the Department of Energy's mission to dispose of surplus weapon grade plutonium. The plutonium is disposed of by mixing it with uranium and forming a mixed oxide (MOX) fuel for use in existing nuclear reactors. After the MOX fuel is irradiated in the reactor, the plutonium can no longer be used for nuclear weapons. AREVA Federal Services provides resources to MOX Services for the design, construction, licensing and operations of the MOX Fuel Fabrication Facility (MFFF) to be built at the Savannah River Site. Resources provided are in the following disciplines: Licensing, ES&H, Integrated Safety Analysis, QA, Engineering Assurance, Process Engineering, Systems Engineering, Design and Engineering (Structural, Electrical, I &C, Seismic, Nuclear Criticality, Piping, Mechanical, HVAC), Project Safety, Procurement, Project Controls, Software Design, Training, Records Management, Operations, and Information Technology.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Orano Federal Services LLC, a subsidiary of Orano US, is seeking a Nuclear Safety Engineer III-IV.

This position will be responsible for
· Developing and maintaining nuclear safety evaluations and calculations to support construction and operation of the MOX facility.
· Maintain configuration management of nuclear safety sections of the MOX License Application and Integrated Safety Analysis Summary.
· Develop and maintain shielding calculations.
· Maintain and validate IROFS database for criticality control groups.
· Support NRC inspections related to Principal Structures, Systems, and Components (PSSC) verification.
· Prepare for and support NRC operational readiness reviews.
· Prepare and/or review Relative Importance to Safety (RITS) evaluations.
· Support development of the Operating Limits Manual, including surveillances, limiting conditions of operations, and compensatory measures

Desired profile

Qualifications :

All candidates must meet the following minimum requirements in order to be considered for this opportunity. Candidates who exceed minimum qualifications may be considered for a higher level position.
·  B.S. in Nuclear or Mechanical Engineering/Engineering Technology.
·  Minimum of 5-6 years experience in radiation protection codes
·  Minimum of 5 years experience in NRC regulated facility.

The following requirements are desired and will be used to differentiate all candidates who apply for this position.

·  Master's Degree in Nuclear or Mechanical Engineering
·  2 years experience with 10CFR70, 10CFR71, or 10CFR72 activities
·  2 years experience on recent NRC licensed facility.
