GIS Analyst

Job description

Reporting to the GIS Supervisor you will analyze the information in the database according to certain criteria, help design databases, support departments that use GIS, and integrate GIS with other technology. Other responsibilities include:
· Provides GIS solutions to support exploration drilling and geophysical programs
· Creates and maintains project related GIS data (DAP, ArcGIS Server)
· Creates and maintains project related maps
· Creates and maintains document/map templates
· Creates and maintains work instructions
· Aids in the generation of geological cross-sections
· Aids in the generation of report logs, master logs and field Logs
· Digitization and geo-referencing of historical maps
· Maintains GPS equipment and provides support to users
· Propose recommendations and procedures to improve efficiency and standards
· Printing/Plotting of project maps and documents
· Complies with all AREVA health, safety and environmental policies, practices and procedures.

Desired profile

Qualifications :

All candidates must meet the following minimum requirements in order to be considered for this opportunity. Candidates who exceed minimum qualifications may be considered for a higher level position.
·  GIS Techniques Technologist or Geomatics Graduate or equivalent with significant experience in a geosciences or mining environment
·  Proficient with ArcGIS
·  Experience with Geosoft's suite of products
·  Experience using AutoCAD Map 3D or AutoCAD Civil 3D
·  Knowledge of GIS, related databases, and SQL queries
·  Knowledge of Python
·  Strong organizational and time management skills
·  Strong people skills and an ability to work in a team environment
