Job description
• Responsible for the management of the MEP site team including mentoring, scheduling their activities, and leading coordination meetings, recruitment and performance management of the team members.
• Directing the MEP site team through all construction phases of a project including contractor coordination and all aspects of site management.
• Check and ensure the project brief, all design briefs, MEP drawings and specifications and all project relevant information are executed as per client objectives.
• Contact with suppliers of electrical and specialty systems, plumbing and fire safety materials/equipment, HVAC, etc.
• Monitoring MEP system installation progress, quality and safety, and initiating action to rectify any non-conformance.
• Review, comments and recommends course of actions for all MEP technical submittals, material, shop drawings, methods statements, etc., for final approval of the Sr. Construction Manager and/or the Project manager and client’s as well.
• Supervise onsite MEP contractor(s) for their safety, quality, equipment and maintenance of appropriate resourcing levels.
• Preparing MEP progress information for inclusion in the project report, providing all relevant information to the project manager.
• Monitoring the preparation of MEP contractor’s final accounts obtaining relevant certificates and submission to the client for payment.
• Ensuring the inclusion in the contract and subsequently requesting the design team, consultants and contractors to supply the client with as built documentations, including but not limited to, installation drawings, operations and maintenance manuals.
Desired profile
Education Requirements:
• Bachelor degree in equivalent: min 3 years of study.
• Major: Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
Essential Skills and Experience:
• Ability to train and mentor others to develop further their skills in contractor management, safety, quality management, and site-based design management.
• Ability to write clear reports, site instructions/memos and meeting minutes that are clear and understandable.
• Previous experience managing multicultural project teams in an expatriate environment either in Asia, the Middle East, Africa or South America.
• Leadership skills including ensuring teams are well motivated, organized, and able to provide clear direction and manage conflict.
• Intermediate client management skills, including demonstrable persuasiveness, negotiation skills and inter-personal skills.
• Stable knowledge of software used in project management including: Microsoft Project, Team Binder, Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite.
Year of Experience Required:
• Seniority: a minimum 08 years working on construction projects
• At least 05 years managing construction teams.
