Subject of the internship:
ArcelorMittal commodity trading platform will support the optimization of ArcelorMittal Sourcing, a global Purchasing entity for the supply of raw materials on behalf of the ArcelorMittal mills. The main products are Iron Ore, Solid Fuels, Base Metals, Ferro-Alloys and Cored Wires and Stainless Raw Materials - are sourced by the Sourcing platform and sold to the ArcelorMittal mills. The annual turnover of AM Sourcing is ~10 b€/year. The trading commodity team ensures that optimizations are proposed and risks are properly identified for AMS perimeter. In a growing team, the intern will have a key role to directly support the Buyers and Management on the following tasks: - Analysis: o Commodity markets & platforms o Cross-commodities correlation o Supply/demand outlook models o Support Global Buyer in developing new tools for market optimization. - Market intelligence: o Collect relevant information and market data o Determine market sentiment via research, valuation and data analysis o Provide key parties with daily trading information o Assimilate financial/market reports o Prepare market strategy reports sent to customers - Reporting: o Manage and control the timely preparation and distribution of detailed market proposals o Prepare weekly KPI’s of trade and import data to identify trends, areas of trade compliance concern and any trade related issues. o Perform continual data management, data clearing and ongoing maintenance of AM Database
