This role is an Operations Senior Analyst based in the Birmingham office within the London Metal Exchange (LME) Operations team who are responsible for clearing and matching trades on the London Metal Exchange. The LME has a daily expiry which is also monitored by the team and this role would entail ad hoc listed derivatives tasks which need to be completed daily.

You will be responsible for the timely and accurate Matching and Clearing of LME trades. 'Matching' means ensuring that Brokers and Clients are in agreement as to what business has been executed. If there is a 'match' between the trade details relayed to the LME Operations team and those being alleged by brokers, the trade flows to the Exchange and is thereby 'Cleared'. As a counterpart to this process, you will also be responsible for performing daily reconciliations between internal systems and the exchange to ensure that there is consistency between information relating to cleared trades between the bank and the exchange.

LME futures contracts have a daily expiry, which is also monitored by the LME Operations Team. Decisions made by the clients as to how they wish to handle expiring positions will be relayed to the LME Operations Team, who will take appropriate steps to give effect to client instructions.

You role will involve interacting with front office trading desk, London Operations, Birmingham, London, US, Frankfurt Client Services, London Metal Exchange, London Clearing House, Client and Counterparties and London Compliance.
