About the company:
Our client is an established engineering business based in Oxfordshire specialising in the design and manufacture of bespoke, advanced tubular fabrications and thermal management systems for high tech industries such as Motorsport aerospace and defence. Products are used in harsh environments where extreme temperatures, highly corrosive conditions and severe vibration loads are experienced.
The company offers a complete design, development and manufacture service for high temperature pipework assemblies, thermal cladding and insulation, CAD design & 3D modelling, 3D laser scanning, stress analysis, CNC tube bending, six-axis laser cutting, hydroforming, precision TIG welding, tube rolling and non-destructive testing to name a few.
The role in a nutshell:
You will have a higher level vocational qualification and be interested in the development and manufacture of new products and processes for the motorsport industry. This role requires a very practical approach and the successful candidate will need to have a high level of talent and commitment.
What you will be doing:
- Maintain the internal SAP system (Business One specification) including Bill of Materials and project tracking. This will be achieved by regular reviews with the Engineers, providing guidance and assistance
- Make judgements to prioritise workload whilst bearing in mind the effects on downstream events.
- Must be able to work to and be very aware of project deadlines, timings, requirements and material specifications.
- Support the development of the SAP system, and it's integration with surrounding supporting software, such as CAD, PDM and other tools, to improve the processes around this.
- Work with engineering office and the workshop to keep abreast of any changes in requirements.
- Single Point of Contact for all SAP and BOM related matters within the business.
- Support material control activities at company sites.
- Support all BOM validation events.
- Support with procurement of parts where required.
- Potential for the role to expand into other areas as time and candidate performance allows.

- Educated to Degree level - ideally an engineering degree
- Experience of CAD (specifically SolidWorks) would be beneficial.
- Good level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Tools.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to confidently communicate with different levels within the business are essential
- Experience in bespoke mechanical engineering projects would be a benefit
- Understanding, if not experience, of planning, databases and automotive/motorsport industry
