Rhum HSE has a heritage and tradition of more than a hundred years and is the product of Martinique's unique “terroir”. The quality is protected by the unique “AOC” designation. Rhum HSE is distilled from pure, freshly-crushed sugar cane juice, and is one of Martinique's most iconic rhums. HSE was modelled after “La Maugée”, a sugar refinery covering over 400 hectares from Gros-Morne to Saint-Joseph in the early 19th century. In 1882, HSE was purchased by Amédée Aubéry, a young industry captain who became one of the most famous figures in the economy of Martinique. He transformed the sugar refinery into a farm distillery and began to modernize infrastructures. The estate was taken over in 1994 by Yves and José Hayot, who re-launched the Saint-Etienne brand and began restoring and enhancing the sugar estate’s architectural heritage. Nowadays the brand is one of the leaders in France and rapidly expanding worldwide.
Baron Francois ltd, rhum HSE distributor’s , is family owned importer and distributer with a strong and growing portfolio of boutique spirits, including FAIR spirits, Chateau de Laubade Bas-Armagnac, Ferdinand’s Saar Gin, and G. Rozelieures Whisky. The spirits are carefully selected based on Baron Francois Ltd’s long-standing principles of good value, family oriented relationships, terroir, and sustainable partnerships.
Poste et missions:
HSE is looking for a Brand Ambassador to represent its line of Rhum in the New York-New Jersey Metro market area. You will also support the expansion of the brand in the country.
Your main objective is to develop relationships and educate on
- and off-premise accounts in order to increase distribution and drive volume of the brand.
You will work closely with Baron Francois Ltd team (and based in their office), the local importer and distributor, to ensure proper implementation and brand building. You are expected to know the competition, be the image of the brand, use social networking as a tool, develop activity reports, work with partner brands and provide feedback.
You will be expected to plan time and activities with Baron Francois sales team and customers to ensure achievements of volume, new distribution, promotions, menu placements, and merchandising objectives in compliance with standards and goals assigned by HSE and Baron Francois..
- Keep up to date with the rhum category including knowledge of brand activities and category news.
- Develop and host informative and passionate training sessions for staff, consumers and journalists in on and off-trade accounts around the country.
- Organize, host and evaluate trade and consumer events showcasing the Hine range.
- Perform weekly store tastings
- Identify business opportunities for HSE and work alongside Baron Francois and HSE to deliver them.
- Be an active part of HSE social media presence following guidelines from the brand.
- Develop relationships with staff, managers and owners of suitable bars, restaurants, hotels and retailers.
Profil:
Job requirements, skills and experience:
- Graduated from a business school, wine and spirits specialization mandatory
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to build strong relationships with customers and interact at all levels of business.
- A level of creativity that facilitates the development of cutting edge consumers and trade activation programs.
- Tech and social media savvy.
- Strong organisational skills with a very good attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective time management and prioritising skills.
- Excellent customer service, delivered with intelligence, passion and integrity.
- Fluent in English
- Be intimately familiar with the spirits market, ideally in the US
- Have at least 1 year (or more!) of experience working with wines or spirits ideally in the US
- Live the brand ambassador life. Late nights and weekends are a large part of your schedule, and occasional travel to other markets is required.
- Passionate, motivated, organized and efficient, you will be asked to be flexible and be able to adapt quickly in a fast moving environment.
- Be eligible to the VIE program in the US.
