Job description

American Express seeks Technical Project Manager to serve as a core member of an agile team to drive delivery of projects linked to process automation for back-office finance applications.
Key activities shall be
• Managing projects in a large corporation using agile methodology.
• Familiar with Windows/.NET/SQL Server/Informatica Environment.
• Engages with Product Owner, Business Stakeholders, and delivery team to understand Business needs and identify appropriate solutions.
• Works within and across business units to prioritize, plan, and execute the development schedule for major product releases.
• Drives integrated teams to deliver technology solutions in support of key product initiatives by working closely with product owners, architects, engineers, and quality assurance.
• Maintains dependency plan between planned sprints across engineering, infrastructure, and third parties.
• Breaks down barriers and shields the team from impediments precluding engineers from making progress against sprints and deadlines.
• Manages and tracks team velocity, financials, and other KPIs in relation to the plan and published progress reports.
• Assigns development resources to activities, and monitors performance across resource channels.
• Organizes and facilitates daily stand-ups and retrospectives at the end of each sprint, and creates an environment in which the team is continuously learning from the past.
• Coordinates communications, escalates and facilitates resolution of risks, issues, and changes tied to the product development initiatives.
• Applies judgment and discretion on when to raise issues versus work through issues with the team.
• Facilitates discussions and looks beyond the obvious for continuous improvement opportunities.
• Performs hands-on reviews of product backlog, test scripts, and results as needed in addressing delivery impediments or product quality issues.
• Identify, describe and use a range of planning, analysis, design, build, test configuration and maintenance tools normally employed within the organization and industry sector for carrying out application development activities as appropriate for a particular platform or platforms.
• Identify, define and engineer components for relevant systems and platforms based on identified specifications.
• Describe key issues relating to the environment in which the platform or system is required to operate, key modes of operation and typical architectural design solutions.
• Assists in integrating software and hardware sub-systems in new systems, upgrades, enhancements and conversions Identify and describe key requirements and the main functional components that make up the relevant platform or system.

Desired profile

Qualifications :
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, computer engineering or equivalent work experience.
• 10+ years of technical delivery experience with a demonstrated track record of increasing responsibility.
• Experience with implementation of packaged software one or more platforms and languages as appropriate.
• Experience facilitating Agile, Scrum, or other rapid application development teams to deliver technology solutions on time, on budget, and to spec. •
PMI Certification is a plus.
• Scrum Master Certification preferred.
Experience with regulatory and compliance initiatives in the financial services industry is a plus
