The Global Merchant Services (GMS) Global Strategy and Capabilities (GS&C) team's mission is to deliver a best-in-class premium merchant member experience that will get merchants to not only accept American Express, but openly welcome and recommend us to their customers.

You will evolve our core end-to-end transaction processing so that it is easy, fast, safe and reliable for all of our merchants to do business with us. Clearly understand merchant needs, develop insights and solutions to positively impact our price/value drivers to increase satisfaction and coverage.

Accelerate Merchant Acquisition and Client Management Enablement: Create tools, capabilities and training that allow sales and client managers to consistently, effectively and efficiently acquire, build, and deepen customer relationships.

Within the Merchant Experience, Coverage and Training team, the Manager of Sales Training & Enablement, Europe is responsible for consulting on strategic business initiatives that enhance the success and support the performance of GMS Sales and Client Management organisations.

This person will report to the Director, Sales Training & Enablement for Europe, Asia, Australia and New Zealand. The Sales Training & Enablement team builds the core and strategic capabilities of the client facing organisations by creating innovative and value-added change management and training solutions.

This includes programs to support new hires, the launch of new products, services, and tools and leadership development programs. The ideal candidate will need to quickly develop relationships and position him/herself in an advisory role to best understand dynamic business requirements, identify opportunities, analyze complex variables and create strategies that drive sales and client management performance. This person is an ambitious self-starter who is comfortable working within ambiguous parameters in a dynamic organisation.

Responsibilities:

· Develop training and change management implementation plans and own the execution to close skill/process/behavioural gaps

· Complete stakeholder analysis to identify performance improvement opportunities and create action plans against identified gaps

· Align recommendations and ensure engagement of leaders and stakeholders

· Develop and implement communications plans across regions and countries

· Perform change risk analysis, mitigation planning and deliverable execution

· Assess change impact and create evaluation framework and mechanisms to gauge the effectiveness of initiatives

· Provide thought leadership and consultative insights to projects, including but not limited to project planning, key deliverables, and rollout

Desired profile

Skills Required:

· Professional experience in consulting, change management, learning and development or related field

· Bachelors degree or higher, masters degree preferred

· Knowledge of adult learning approaches

· Experience developing and delivering training

· Demonstrated effectiveness in solving problems across businesses, functions, and geographies

· Successful track record designing, communicating and managing change on a large-scale

· Exceptionally strong strategic thinking and planning skills, balanced with proven track record of delivering tangible results in complex, global, and matrix environment

· Consulting and project management skills and experiences

· Ability to innovate and operate autonomously and make complex decisions within ambiguity and time pressure

· Superior communication and influencing skills

· Experience working or implementing large global initiatives

· Experience working on large scale technology implementation/projects

· Client facing or consulting experience preferred
