Global Certification Services (GCS) is part of the Service Experience Organization within the American Express Global Network Business. The GCS core focus is certification & deployment processes for all Network participants (merchants, banks, and processors) ensuring successful transactions within the American Express Network. GCS also supports internal initiatives including: customer readiness, vendor certification/management, performance metrics monitoring, financial reconciliation, POS certifications and various process improvement initiatives.
The successful candidate will be involved in hands on manual/automation testing of enterprise web based certification tools (Network Test Simulator and Amex Test Simulator) required for the successful certification of network participants.
Summary:
Looking for a QA Test Analyst to conduct UAT process and assess the system during the software development life cycle. This candidate will play a role in the test planning, test design, test scripting, and test execution within the test life cycle. He/she must apply functional knowledge and technical expertise to deliver high quality test deliverables; candidate must also work with testing team, development and business to map out test cases per application requirements, analyze and document defects, support issue ticket management and ensure proper test coverage. . This position will create and execute software test plans and test cases focused on functionality and usability of the products to ensure a healthy user experience. This position is expected to adhere to SDLC methodologies and QA best-practice procedures.
Job Functions:
· This individual will design, create, implement, maintain, and execute test scenarios, test plans, and test cases/scripts, using test methodologies that ensure exhaustive & comprehensive testing of assigned applications & solutions against established acceptance criteria.
· Identify, analyze and track defects using assigned toolset, and provide detailed and complete defect reports with regular updates to keep others informed of status. Drive for expedient resolution of defects and validate fixes in a timely manner.
· Possess strong analytical and technical aptitude, and exhibit ability to build technical problem-solving skills to expedite root cause analysis and resolution of issues encountered within the test environment, during test execution, or other QA-related activities.
· Must be self-motivated and willing to “do what it takes” to get the job done, results-driven with a sense of urgency necessary to meet goals, objectives, and deadlines
· Be proficient in analyzing test projects and estimating QA work effort with a high degree of accuracy. Actively participate in workshops and status meetings to provide input on test status, roadblocks and impediments, and assist in expediting resolution to ensure on-time completion of high-quality test deliverables.
· Must have well-developed verbal & written communication skills, ability to understand and adapt technical concepts & verbiage to non-technical recipients and communicate effectively in meetings and on calls, via email, training sessions and/or written artifacts for downstream consumption.
· Build a strong understanding of assigned test modules and applications in order to work independently, with minimal supervision required, and with a desire for high quality test execution.
· Collaborate with developers, QA and product owner/stakeholders to improve overall quality by emphasizing defect prevention, usability and functional enhancements throughout the development process.
· Strong process advocate with an acute attention to detail and desire to continually improve the testing process. Will partner with developers, product owner, and the user community as required to resolve quality issues quickly.
· Consistently follow and support documented QA processes and procedures to ensure a high quality test approach, as well as a quality test deliverable to the recipient user.
· Participate, as requested, in sprint-related sessions and provide input into testing scope and risk analysis, development of acceptance criteria, and estimated test effort.
· Support ticket management and be able to analyze and trend different types of cases.
Desired profile
Qualifications:
· 2+years of related Technical experience.
· Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience. Basic knowledge of information systems elements (hardware, software, network) and their application to business functions/processes
· Minimum of 2 years of professional work experience in quality assurance or working in collaboration with a QA team, implementing and applying industry best practices to design test scripts and execution.
· Preferred with working experience in any payment card industry system applications.
· Knowledge in developing automation frameworks with Java, Selenium and SQL is a plus.
· Basic knowledge of MS Office, analytical and programming skills.
· Basic understanding of the key processes in the business and the business rules that impact the development and/or implementation of information systems.
· Ability to self-govern, to be flexible, to prioritize and manage their own time to meet tight program deadlines.
· Knowledge of full software development life cycle (SDLC) is desired, together with an understanding of technical project planning, scope and risk analysis, and application implementation.
