Merchant Services – Americas (MSA) is making American Express “Welcomed Everywhere and Used Every Day”. The business focuses on high growth and relationships in the U.S. Small Merchants segment, Canada, Latin America and the Caribbean. Through innovative programs like OptBlue and growing relationships with payment facilitators like Square, MSA is transforming how American Express is accepted and welcomed.

This position is a dual role responsible for existing portfolio management and acquisition of new relevant prospects to improve AXP card acceptance coverage and perception of coverage especially in Travel & Entertainment industries in the main areas where AXP card members want to spend in the most relevant Caribbean Islands.

The Merchant Acquisition & Client Management Executive will be responsible for increasing coverage with new acquisitions and at the same time achieving GMS business metrics such as: Discount business volume, Book charge volume, Active LIF's (Locations in Force), Revenues and Contribution Margin.

Responsibilities:
· Drive merchant coverage and perception of coverage signing new prospects and managing existing merchants in specific Caribbean Islands with a particular focus on T&E industries
· Effectively find and qualify prospects and build a continued and robust pipeline to improve coverage gaps
· Definition and implementation of commercial plans for existing and new merchants to increase Charge Volume, Revenues & Active LIF's
· Strong relationship management and consultative selling skills with a demonstrated ability to create, establish, maintain deepen relationships with customers especially in T&E industries
· Define Point of Purchase (POP) and servicing strategies for the region to make AXP one of the preferred card acceptance networks
· Build successful internal relations with other lines of business and GSN, Marketing, PC, Pricing, GCO and GMS to create and deliver value to increase merchant satisfaction
· Comply with compliance policies such as 6050 & KYC certifications

Desired profile

·  3-5 years of sales & account development experience required in B2B industries, financial & consumer preferred.
·  Business development experience including the ability to create and develop winning strategies to drive results. Research capabilities needed in order to develop a robust and continued pipeline of new prospects and growth plans for existing merchants.
·  Strong business, financial and analytical acumen, collaboration and excellent problem solving skills
·  Superior customer focus & proven ability to take initiative and work independently with a positive and tenacious attitude. Comfortable with a high paced, changing regulatory environment with multiple priorities.
·  Must be able to travel to conduct business as needed. Up to 40% of the time.
·  Influencing and negotiation skills with confidence to challenge opinions and perceptions and offer unique insights and perspectives
·  Ability to drive superior results by providing sound decision making and creative problem solving
·  Strong EQ and expertise in tailoring communication style
·  Fluency in Spanish / English mandatory
