Global Supply Management (GSM) ensures that the right processes and controls are in place to manage the full source-to-pay lifecycle and maintain proper oversight of third-party relationships. It is a fast paced, strategic group that drives initiatives at the forefront of transformational change. Global Supply Management's core objectives are to deliver strategic and financial value, improve efficiency and drive our B2B strategy. This framework will drive significant value for our business partners and position GSM as a powerful strategic asset for the company.
The GSM Operations & Capabilities Team runs Amex's procure-to-pay processes and platforms, supports systems rollouts, and maintains key GSM policies, as well as includes several shared service functions that are centralized to support all of GSM and increase the productivity and effectiveness of the entire organization. B2B Development partners with GCP, develops our B2B strategy and drives growth of Stream Pay. Systems & Capabilities leads all of GSM's systems development and rollouts, including Ariba, Oracle, Concur and Stream platforms. Analytics enhances our data capabilities and provides advanced reporting and analysis for both customers and GSM. Training & Customer Experience elevates our training and development activities to better support the growth needs of employees and our organization, as well as enhance customers' experience with GSM products and services.
The Manager will report to the VP, Operations & Capabilities. The Manager will be a critical member of the Operations & Capabilities Team, responsible for strategic and organizational initiatives, working across the team and with key business partners to ensure the overall success of the organization. The Manager will be responsible for a broad range of activities to help ensure that the team runs effectively, group-wide issues are raised and dealt with and the global organization has an appropriate level of support to be a high performing team.
Responsibilities:
· Providing thought leadership and operational support to drive critical GSM initiatives
· Managing strategy and oversight of all internal and external communications for the VP, Operations & Capabilities
· Developing robust presentations for key internal and external meetings
· Tracking and maintaining budgets and financial objectives
· Partnering with GSM leadership on organizational initiatives
· Project management of special projects tied to Operations & Capabilities strategy
Desired profile
· Bachelor's degree required
· Three years of relevant experience required.
· Experience in consulting preferred
· Exceptional project management and influencing skills
· Strong collaborator with an ability to build relationships and challenge the status quo.
· Strategic mindset, financial acumen, negotiation skills
· A solid understanding of core business processes, experience with process definition and record of driving process improvement across complex, matrix environments.
· Ability to operate as a change agent with proven record of delivered results.
· Solid conceptual and critical thinking skills with demonstrated problem solving capabilities. Ability to manage day-to-day business priorities along with long-term strategic deliverables.
· Ability to build strong trusted working relationships; influencing without authority. Excellent people skills, including relationship management, communication, negotiation, influencing, presentation, and motivation.
· Intellectual curiosity, passion for using analytics to develop insights and recommendations, solve business challenges, improve the customer experience, and drive bottom line results.
