The Sales Manager's key responsibility is to sell processing acceptance of various American Express products and services to business to business organizations. They are required to gain in-depth knowledge of all aspects of the prospect's business and industry and implement effective sales strategies and solutions to ensure that our network of accepting vendors keeps up with the rapidly growing demand of organizations to purchase goods through the American Express network.
· Additional responsibilities include:
· Contract negotiation
· Sale of ancillary Blue Box assets (Network Development products and business solutions, marketing programs, Business Insights)
· Gathering and disseminating marketplace and competitive information
· Account set-up (e.g. Card acceptance procedures, activation, reconciliation and back office procedures to ensure seamless transition to Card acceptance)
· Collaboration with internal partners to develop/enhance value offering
The Sales Manager will use their effective prospecting and cold calling skills to identify leads, maintain and update target lists and establish a prioritized action plan for each target. They will create and execute on strategic sales plans, build relationships for success, handle client negotiation strategies and finalize agreements on terms.

Desired profile

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of working capital, accounting concepts, and effective cash flow management. They will be a proven self starter, an entrepreneurial thinker, and be capable of selling effectively in a variety of sales environments.
Additional qualifications include:
· Proven direct/consultative selling skills and a minimum of three years customer-facing outside sales experience
· Excellent presentation / negotiation skills
· Strong quantitative and analytical skills and the ability to prepare P&L projections and break-even analysis required in order to leverage value proposition / support proposals
· Demonstrated experience in effective prospecting and building and managing a robust pipeline of quality targets
· Some travel is required, and candidate must be independent and able to work from a compliant Home Office environment
· Working knowledge of related Amex products and services is considered an asset
· B2B industry knowledge required
· An MBA/Post-Graduate education/Financial services background would be an asset
