Global Commercial Payments (GCP) is a core operating group of American Express and has delivered robust growth over the past decade. GCP works with small to midsize businesses to help them do more business.
Job responsibilities:
· Drive Expansion sales from existing clients with annual revenue of $10M- $300M in primary and secondary markets
· Achieve Expansion Sales Charge Volume targets
· Execute a transactional sales cycle
· Sell core American Express solutions
· Spend significant time on engaging the book of business, ensuring implementation of new opportunities, and managing new signings through the first 13 months of Booked Charge Volume
· Sell with integrity and appropriately track prospect data to ensure a coordinated and consistent client experience, in alignment with compliance and internal partner business requirements

· Overcomes objections and resistance to proposed solutions with key prospect decision makers and mobilizes them to action

· Actively engages with clients to uncover new opportunities within the excising book of business
· Tenaciously networks with internal and external partners to obtain maximum results with each client
· Consultative selling
· Effectively identifies client needs with MMCG input to configure solutions that address client requirements and deliver value
· Positions products and services to meet specific prospect needs and solicits feedback about the value of proposed solutions
· Market & industry knowledge
· Understands at a tactical level market/ industry key competitors, challenges, terminology, technology, trends, and regulations
· Bachelor's degree in sales, marketing or equivalent discipline, or equivalent B2B work experience, is preferred
· At least 3 years of experience
· Track record that demonstrates exceptional ability to obtain new business or grow existing business relationships
· Background of success in a virtual environment
· Candidates should reside within 50 miles of the primary city indicated, work from their home office, and be willing to travel frequently for in-person Client visits (valid driver's license required)
· Extensive travel required to meet with Clients – up to 50%– across a geographic region
