The GMS Marketing team is part of the Global Merchant Services organisation and is responsible for supporting the development of marketing solutions to suit Merchants in Australia.

This partner-focused role sits within the Global Merchant Services Marketing team and leads the Managed Merchant consultation planning and execution for the Australia & New Zealand Business. The successful candidate will report to the Director of Customer Marketing & Business Insights JAPA.

The key responsibility of this role is to partner with our Client Management and Acquisition stakeholders to plan, execute and deliver on high impact marketing initiatives to contribute to the key Global Merchant Services scorecard measures including Merchant satisfaction (Net Promoter Score) and revenue growth, while supporting Card Member engagement across the American Express network.

This individual will work in partnership with the Global Merchant Services Client Management and Acquisition teams in Australia & New Zealand to support key account discussions, signings and renegotiations. The marketing activity developed must also support a growth in share of wallet with our network of Card Members (Consumer & Business) as well as driving the industry marketing strategy. It is an exciting and diverse role, which would suit an individual who thrives in developing new relationships and finding innovative ways to meet mutual goals.

The ideal candidate will be a seasoned marketing professional and have a proven track record in marketing strategy and campaign development for large scale brands. The candidate will have an extensive background in marketing and campaign strategy, working across all marketing channels. Responsibilities will include:

· Develop and lead Merchant Marketing Consultation strategy for Managed Merchants in Australia.
· Lead Industry Partnership 2016 strategy and create and execute the 2016 Marketing plan.
· Prepare Merchant campaign sell-in materials and attending Merchant meetings in partnership with Client Management organisation.
· Extensive stakeholder management – internally and externally.
· Managing external suppliers, manage external Merchant Marketing relationships align with internal stakeholder groups including client management, acquisition, compliance and marketing teams.
· Budget and time management.
· Creating and developing B2C promotional campaigns across all marketing channels.
· This role may include responsibility for one direct report.

Desired profile

· Marketing degree qualified
· Minimum 8 years B2C and B2B marketing experience
· Track record translating business problems into strategic marketing plans with proven results.
· Strong background in BTL Marketing, digital marketing and campaign execution.
· Understanding of data & customer segmentation.
· Strong interpersonal skills.
· Strong communication skills (written & oral), including development of agency briefs and communication copy.
· Expertise in handling multiple simultaneous projects and delivering results.
· Negotiation Skills and Collaborative style of doing business - with ability to influence, gain support, resolve conflict and work across multiple stakeholder groups.
