This role will be working within the Reinsurance department, which is within the wider International Insurance Central Team. The International Insurance Central Team is responsible for working with insurance companies to offer highly valued insurances to customers around the world and also drives the cost efficient provision of No Additional Charge insurances to Cardmembers across international markets. The team partners with local market teams and is responsible for driving Global Partner and Product Strategy, structuring and managing insurance portfolios, Risk Financing/Reinsurance and the Insurance Control Environment.

Reinsurance is a major contributor of revenue and profit and delivers significant savings on the costs associated with the embedded insurance benefits that are incorporated on the cards. Both the size and number of reinsurance portfolios is increasing year on year and additional resource is required to support this ongoing growth. The successful candidate will report direct to the Risk Assessment, Risk Financing and Reinsurance Manager and collaborate with market teams, the reinsurance subsidiary and partner insurance carriers to support the current and expanded portfolio.

Principal Accountabilities

Collate assess and report on:

· Insurance product level premium and transaction data
· Support analysis and creation of market level product MIS
· Claims Financial MIS
· Support analysis and creation of program level performance for pricing, reserving and reporting
· Reinsurance exposure level data
· Support analysis and performance of reinsurance programs Insurance KPIs

Desired profile

Required skills:

·  Intermediate Excel skills (pivot tables, look-ups, formula's) are essential to the role
·  Advanced Excel skills such as VBA, Macros will be an advantage
·  Strong analytical skills: comfortable working with and manipulating large data sets, ability to relate and compare data from different sources, identifies issues, secure relevant information and spot connections in the data
·  Ability to synthesise and organise complex information to provide business insights
·  Demonstrate a high level of diligence to ensure delivery of accurate risk and financial assessments
·  Although no prior industry experience is required, the ability to develop an understanding of insurance products, insurance risks and complex insurance/reinsurance financial structures is essential
·  Strong influencing, communication and relationship skills
·  Proactive approach to work to ensure recommendations are made
