Data Analyst: Digital Acquisition, Strategic Analysis & Testing

The American Express Integrated Marketing Solutions (IMS) team plays a central role in delivering on the many large opportunities we have across both the US and International Consumer organizations. Our team has extraordinary opportunity to have a significant and positive impact on the success of the Global Consumer Services Group and American Express.

This role will report to a Manager of Strategic Analytics and Testing. The candidate will be primarily responsible for reporting and analysis of the digital acquisition user experience to drive more acquisitions. The insights provided will be used to optimize online card application journeys and card member early engagement processes.

Job Responsibilities

· Analyze web analytics data and perform ad-hoc analysis to support various digital initiatives
· Measure the potential impact of individual application enhancements as well as larger development projects.
· Set up anomaly detection, alerts, and KPI dashboards leveraging web analytics data
· Create and maintain dashboards and scorecards
· Support the customer and strategic analytics organization by managing internal reporting requests workflows
· Serve as a web data steward responsible for maintaining data accuracy.

Desired profile

Required Skills

·  Bachelor's degree is required. Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics or related quantitative field is preferred.
·  Knowledge of data mining tools like SAS, SQL, other programming languages to work with Big data is preferred.
·  Experience in Excel, including managing PivotTables and large data sets, required.
·  Technical acumen and experience with internet technologies preferred (HTML, Javascript, CSS, etc.)
·  Web analytics experience preferred (Adobe Analytics, Omniture SiteCatalyst, Google Analytics, Coremetrics, etc.)
·  Curiosity and a passion for using data in business decision-making.
·  Top-notch written, visual and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex analyses and calculations to non-specialists
·  Strong analytical, project management, and self-management skills
