Job description

Global Merchant Services (GMS) Marketing is dedicated to bringing buyers and sellers together and transforming how American Express is welcomed. GMS Marketing is responsible for partnering with GMS markets to drive profitable growth, accelerate coverage and enhance the value of Amex acceptance to Merchants and Card Members at scale. We focus on enhancing our relationships with millions of Merchants of all shapes and sizes, and our geographic purview includes many commerce hubs across the globe including the U.S, Canada, Latin America, the Caribbean, Europe and the Asia-Pacific region.

It is also critical for GMS Marketing to collaborate effectively with Card Issuing teams and other partner organizations across the Blue Box including Client Management, Marketing Operations, Information Management, Enterprise Digital, Global Advertising and Brand Management and World Service in order to fully harness the power of the closed loop via mediums including Custom Consulting, Offers, Recommendations, Multi-Merchant Campaigns, Digital Experiences and Brand Awareness.

This Assistant Marketing Manager reports to the Head of Merchant Marketing, Singapore and Thailand. The key responsibility of this role is to identify and execute high impact marketing initiatives to grow the GMS business and improve acquisition, activation and satisfaction with our Merchant partners. This will include the project management of online & offline marketing activities and also improvement of existing marketing platforms. This will require working across various business lines within GMS and with other parts of the company.

Responsibilities

·  Develop and implement B2C and B2B promotion activities for both online and offline platforms to meet business objectives and increase Merchant partner's satisfaction with close coordination with local GMS and GNICS, as well as the broader global GMS Marketing team. Specific responsibilities include:
·  Development of campaign components to ensure each program meets strategic business and marketing objectives
·  Formulating segmentation strategies to ensure communications correctly impact Merchant target groups
·  Program execution includes
·  Briefing and managing external marketing agency relationships and the full print production process / delivery of online asset
·  Creative execution aligned with customer insight 
·  Briefing and managing supply of data to support campaign execution
·  Campaign analysis and reporting of results to determine campaign impact and progress towards achieving strategic objectives. Leveraging results to enhance future campaign activity.
·  Build best in class online marketing programs using digital capabilities such as Registered Card (RC). Plan and execute effective RC campaigns including offer construct, communication planning, GMS and issuer alignment and analysis of results.
·  Improve current marketing platforms such as Selects and contribute to generation of incremental revenue.
·  Manage relationships and gain alignment with key internal stakeholders including GMS Marketing central teams, Client Management, Acquisition, GNICS, PA&C, GCO, Compliance and Procurement.
·  Managing third party relationships to implement effective campaigns / platforms.
·  Develop relationships with Merchant partners as required in order to develop marketing programs that meet their specific objectives and requirements.
·  Administration and management of Advertising & Promotions budgets, including reporting, reconciliation and adhering to all finance time-frames and procedures.
·  100% compliance of GMS marketing initiatives (internal & external regulatory and operational requirements).

·  Multi-tasker to handle various projects to meet target KPIs as well as timelines and budgets
·  Proven ability to think strategically, with success in developing and implementing key marketing projects
·  A creative thinker that can combine best practices with new ideas to create compelling marketing programmes
·  A solid team player able to successfully plan and implement across multiple business groups within American Express.
·  Flexibility, and ability to deal with ambiguity and rapid change
·  Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to flex style and content depending on audience
·  Experience in Singapore essential
