The Strategic Planning Group (“SPG”) at American Express has a two-fold mission:

· To be a partner for our business unit clients and for the broader company by analyzing and supporting the most critical strategic initiatives; and
· To attract high-performing talent, develop their business and people leadership competencies, and transition them to be successful leaders in the company.

American Express hires individuals into SPG to work on critical challenges and innovative opportunities for the company. In SPG team members gain exposure to numerous business units and have the opportunity to develop their core consulting and leadership skills through their project work. After approximately two years, SPG team members take on new roles in business units in American Express across the globe. SPG Leadership provides team members with tailored support to help each individual find the right next role in American Express.

Team members in SPG are continuously surprised at the incredible breadth and depth of project assignments. A role with American Express in SPG offers the unique opportunity to work across all business lines with some of the top strategic minds in business.

The Summer Internship programme commences in June 2016 for 10 weeks.

What type of work can you expect to do as an intern in SPG at American Express?
· As part of project teams, provide high-level strategic counsel to top management and executives
· Analyze and manipulate data to develop frameworks and solutions to tackle key business issues
· Perform analysis and research to develop insights as part of a project team
· Provide thought leadership and partner with business unit clients to develop and present implementable solutions

· Please note you must be currently studying an MBA to be eligible for this internship
