DESCRIPTION
Want to work on the cutting edge of cloud technology? Do you have experience working with Container technologies? Can you convey complex information clearly, concisely and accurately to a technical audience? If yes, consider joining us as a Senior Technical Writer on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) documentation Containers team!
As a Technical Writer, you are a key partner in helping customers build and run containerized applications on AWS, including Amazon ECS, AWS Fargate, Amazon EKS, Amazon ECR, and AWS App Mesh.

While having experience working with containers is ideal, it is not required. Nor is an official tech writing background. You will need a technical background, experience working with cloud services, an appetite for learning new technologies quickly, and experience writing for a technical audience (Technical docs, blogs, readmes, or similar).
Responsibilities
· Create, maintain and improve the technical documentation!
· Be the first “customer”– providing technical feedback on new features and experiences!
· Lead customer-focused content strategy development and execution.
· Partner closely with engineering teams all along the way.
· Work with customers, gather and improve your docs based on feedback.
· Track and report on content performance against customer goals using key metrics.
· Work with other writers and editors (Yes, we have editors!!) to improve your writing, and help other improve theirs.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
· Strong written and verbal communication skills.
· Degree or certification in a relevant technical field or equivalent experience.
· Experience using authoring systems.
· Experience working with or on cloud services.
· Experience with Linux or Windows system administration.
· Experience working on container offerings.
· Experience working in an agile environment.
· Experience using GitHub.
Desired profile
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
· Experience planning and delivering customer-focused documentation.
· Experience working directly with engineering teams on products for a technical audience, such as developers, DevOps, IT professionals, engineers, or scientists.
· Experience working with cloud services or other developer-focused products.
· Experience using tools to create, manage, and publish documentation.
