DESCRIPTION

The Ad Optimization group in Bangalore has the charter to solve optimization problems for ad-programs in Amazon and ensure high quality ad-impressions. We develop advanced algorithms and systems to optimize performance for our advertisers and publishers. We are focused on solving a wide variety of problems in the area of computational advertising like traffic quality prediction, web crawling, publisher quality, robot detection, fraud detection, performance prediction, pricing, contextual extraction and publisher monetization. Our group includes experts in the areas of distributed computing, machine learning, statistics, optimization, text mining, information theory, control systems, combinatorics and econometrics.

We are seeking a talented, technically strong and highly motivated Technical Program Manager (TPM) to work for the Robot Detection team. A TPM for the Robot Detection group will work with the scientists, research engineers and other worldwide Advertising teams for successful delivery of disparate projects.

We are seeking TPMs who possess very strong analytical skills, program management background, well-rounded technical background and ability to track multiple diverse projects through their lifecycle. You must be able to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment, and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities. As a TPM, you will anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make tradeoffs, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints.

Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- 3+ years experience in technical program management
- A solid Computer Science foundation, including at least 2+ years of experience in a software engineering role.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and an ability to think clearly, analyze quantitatively, problem-solve, scope technical requirements and prioritize.
- A solid experience and track record of successful system implementations utilizing multiple project management methodologies, tools and techniques.
- An ability to conduct and/or oversee interface design, requirements definition, research, metrics analysis, technical specifications, development, testing, and launch efforts.
- A strong familiarity with agile development methodologies.
- Sound business judgment, a proven ability to influence others, strong technical acumen, and strong analytical thinking skills
- A willingness to dive into software environments and technical issues to develop and maintain the skills necessary to manage and advocate products and projects
- An ability to take large, complex projects and break them down into manageable pieces, develop functional specifications, then deliver them in a successful and timely manner is expected.
