Amazon.com has an immediate opening for a Technical Program Manager to support our European infrastructure growth initiatives. The TPM will lead cross functional teams to drive the implementation and deployment of the completed designs, develop and document requirements, budgets, and project schedules.

The ideal candidate possesses 3 - 5 years of experience in technical program management, plus experience managing complex and large-scale and technology projects. Experience in managing networking projects and / or datacenter rollouts is a plus. A Bachelor's degree is required and demonstrated ability to lead others in a technical environment. Successfully delivering aggressive project deliverables while effectively managing capital budgets is essential.

The successful candidate will be an exceptionally strong communicator both written and verbally, and will lead multi-discipline, highly technical project initiatives. You will be familiar with one or more AWS products, have experience of working in a complex engineering environment and will have worked as a technical project manager on increasingly complex projects. Your experience includes datacenter technologies like HVAC, power systems, cable plant, server, or networking, as well as familiarity with datacenter automation tools. You will work comfortably with teams and peers from Real Estate, Design Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, Procurement and Operations to name but a few.

You must be able to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial and very busy environment, and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities. This means you are not only able to develop and drive high-level strategic initiatives, but can also roll up your sleeves, dig in and get the job done. As the project manager of the team, you will anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make trade-offs, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints.

An ability to take large, complex projects and break them down into manageable pieces, develop functional specifications, then deliver them in a successful and timely manner is expected. Maturity, high judgment, negotiation skills, ability to influence, analytical talent and leadership are essential to success in this role. You will clearly communicate goals, roles, responsibilities, and desired outcomes to internal cross-functional and remote teams.

Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelors degree and 3-5 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Experience in core project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risk management. Must be well organized and able to work effectively under time pressure. Proven ability to effectively manage project budgets is essential
· Data Center, networking engineering, systems engineering background and demonstrated excellence
· Good understanding of Data Center technologies such as Power, Cooling and Controls systems.
· Proficiency with project management planning and reporting tools.
· Exceptional analytical, quantitative, communication, and presentation skills
