DESCRIPTION

The Optimal Delivery Engineering team within SCOT (Supply Chain Optimization Technologies) is looking for a team-oriented individual who will resolve non-critical production software application issues dealing with item availability, customer promises, network configuration software, shipment planning and other issues related to the supply chain process. We are looking for individuals interested in supporting AWS technology adaptation in supply chain systems.

This job is a great starting point for those with career goals in the tech industry. Application Engineers have a path to full-time development or program management, as well as supporting technical systems for the long term. Your solutions will impact our customers directly! Your ability to learn quickly and work on disparate and overlapping tasks will define your success. You get to experience a breadth of impact working with various groups and interact closely with developers in the supply chain.
Currently *no* on-call is required for this position. Primary responsibilities include troubleshooting, diagnosing and fixing production software issues, developing monitoring solutions, performing software maintenance and configuration, implementing the fix for internally developed code (Perl, Ruby, Python and Java), performing SQL queries, updating, tracking and resolving technical challenges. Responsibilities also include working alongside development of corporate and divisional software projects, updating/enhancing our current software, automation of support processes and documentation of our systems.

The ideal candidate must be detail oriented, have superior verbal and written communication skills, strong organizational skills, able to juggle multiple tasks at once, able to work independently and can maintain professionalism under pressure. You should be able to identify problems before they happen and implement solutions that detect and prevent defects. You must be able to accurately prioritize projects, make sound judgments, work to improve the customer experience, and get the right things done.

Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· 2+ years overall development/technical support experience.
· Experience in UNIX/Linux operating system.
· Scripting languages
· Object oriented development experience in C++ and/or Java.
