DESCRIPTION

Our team is responsible for Sable, a critical component of Amazon's eCommerce Platform. Sable provides a data storage & computation platform for eCommerce services to host and manage their data in a cost effective way. Mission critical systems rely on Sable’s high performance, throughput and availability to serve the needs of various customer-facing commerce use cases.

As a Support/DevOps Engineer in the SIO (Sable India operations) team you will solve complex, mission critical hosting, support on-call and operations problems throughout the global presence for Sable, handle on-call during India daytime. You must possess strong verbal and written communication skills, be self-driven and deliver high quality results in a fast paced environment. You need to enjoy working closely in a peer group of highly talented engineers. We are looking for smart, results oriented engineer.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· B.E/B.Tech in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical field.
· Comfortable communicating cross-functionally and across management levels in formal and informal settings
· Strong organizational skills and ability to deep dive to understand root cause of the issues
· Shows creativity and initiative to improve self-service tools and effectiveness.
· Demonstrable track record dealing well with ambiguity, prioritizing needs, and delivering measurable results in a dynamic environment.
· Creation of baseline metrics and monitoring of service health.
· Demonstrated skill and passion for operational excellence.

Ideal candidate profile



BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· DevOps / Engineering background with 2+ years of industry experience.
· The ability to program to solve problems and automate repetitive tasks in a common scripting or programming language such as Python, Perl, Java, or Ruby
· Knowledge of Unix/Linux
· Proven ability to troubleshoot and identify the root cause of issues.
· A history of dealing well with ambiguity, prioritizing needs, and delivering measurable results in a dynamic environment.
· Understanding of storage related technology
· Must be a self-starter and motivated.
