DESCRIPTION
The Transportation & Recipient Experience Design Studio (TRX) is a multidisciplinary team in Amazon Operations. Teams of designers, design technologists, writers, researchers, and producers work collaboratively in our studios to create next generation transportation experiences.
We are looking for an innovative, self-motivated Senior User Experience Designer to help us drive new design initiatives and champion a variety of user experience improvements for Amazon's Transportation and Recipient Experience team. You will work collaboratively with researchers, design technologists, product managers, developers, content strategists, users, executives, and other designers--leading design throughout the planning and development lifecycle for a multitude of interfaces. You will be responsible for designing the information architecture, usability, interaction flows, and for the creation of high fidelity mockups of new and existing mobile and web application experiences.
The ideal candidate will:
· Design v1 experiences while planning and strategizing for the direction of future iterations
· Quickly iterate on multiple interactive design solutions and work through details
· Advocate for your design solutions by putting them in the context of business and user goals
· Develop high level and/or detailed storyboards, mockups, and prototypes to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas
· Deliver work that's not only user-friendly, aesthetically engaging, but which also produces results
· Work alongside engineers and product managers throughout all stages of the production cycle
· Assess and optimize the performance of new and existing features by actively participating in user research and assessing performance metrics
· Present design work to multiple teams and senior leadership for review and feedback
· Contribute to user interface design and development best practices and standards
Desired profile
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
· 5+ years of experience as a user experience designer, interaction designer, information architect, or similar role
· 5+ years of experience leading work as a senior creative contributor
· Bachelor's degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or 5 years equivalent professional experience
· A portfolio or samples of work demonstrating experience creating user-centered design solutions
· Experience designing for the web and mobile device experiences
· Experience in design thinking methodologies, from research, design, to building tangible outcomes
· Proficiency with a variety of design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, Fireworks, Visio, and Dreamweaver
· Visual design expertise demonstrated through mockups, prototypes, and style guides
