Sr. RF Payload Integration and Test Engineer - Project Kuiper

DESCRIPCIÓN

Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.

The Role:
As a Sr. RF Payload Integration and Test Engineer, you will engage with an experienced cross-disciplinary team to conceive and design innovative product solutions. You will work closely with colleagues throughout Project Kuiper’s inter-disciplinary team, and engage third party suppliers, in order to drive key aspects of product definition, execution and optimization. You must be responsive, flexible and able to succeed within a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

As a member of the Payload Integration and test team, you will be responsible for verification and validation of wireless system and physical layer performance of multiple wireless components. This includes the testing, analyzing, and optimizing RF systems from baseband modems to antenna.

In this role you will:
· Work within a project team and take responsibility for high bandwidth wireless implementation
· Meet with suppliers to select components
· Implement, validate, and optimize RF lab setups, test and prototype equipment
· Analyze and mitigate potential self and other system interference issues
· RF link budget / line-up planning and filter requirements verification
· Take the product through testing and verification, potential operator testing, ramp up and sustaining
· Work closely with implementation teams to evaluate expected system level RF performance and provide quick feedback on potential improvements
· Specify and document end-to-end test plan to validate performance against a specification matrix.
· Work closely with the subsystem engineering teams and to ensure communication payload subsystems are validated to meet RF performance specifications.
· Integrate communications and RF component systems.
· Create test plans, strategies and templates for system and block level tests, to test integrated broadband communications solutions for both RF performance and function.
· Configure test equipment for operation, satellite link emulator, spectrum analyzer, signal generator, etc.
· Interpret test automation results and track new and existing test failures.
· Work with component design teams to remedy test failures and improve RF performance.
· Work with software, mechanical engineering, baseband and compliance teams
· Prepare reports documenting test results, test coverage and other KPI metrics, and communicate issues effectively with developers and managers.
