DESCRIPTION

Amazon's Transportation North American Sortation Center (NASC) ACES team is seeking a highly skilled and motivated person to help develop a world class middle mile Continuous Improvement and Compliance and Controls program. This role will be responsible for implementing, updating and maintaining the continuous improvement and compliance and controls program. Operational areas include sort centers and transportation.

Amazon ACES stands for Amazon Customer Excellence System (Operational Excellence) - Amazon's operating system of process excellence and culture of continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:
· Drive network level excellence by designing and implementing systems, metrics and programs that maximize compliance and continuous improvement.
· Work with the business, compliance, and legal to determine risk severity from a monetary and reputational standpoint for assessment prioritization purposes.
· Maintain and improve the ATS Self-Audit / Assessment Program, currently contained within C3PO Audit Builder. Work with Site Leaders to properly identify gaps and bring about sustained closure.
· Develop targeted and broad based training programs to address the weaknesses identified during the assessment process, as well as based on new regulatory requirements that may impact Amazon operations now or in the future.
· Collaborate with counterparts in other ATS functional areas (e.g. Safety, Learning, and Loss Prevention) as well as corporate teams such as Operations Engineering and SC Launch SME's to drive improvement, standardization and documentation of core process elements to support network growth and scale.
· Mentor NASC leadership staff in Lean principles; define and drive adoption of standard work into the daily routines and habits of Sortation Center staff.
· Engage in and lead Kaizen events to improve operations in support of ACES CI / C&C initiatives.
· Engage other Amazon business units globally to share best practices and improve end to end outcomes for Amazon customers.
· Provide metrics inputs to various reporting decks; communicate key performance indicators to NASC operations leaders in support of network objectives, including the ATS C&C weekly business review (WBR).
· Support the work of ACES teams working to improve the vision, content, and delivery of ACES Training program.
· Collaborate and drive results with operational leaders and support teams

A successful candidate will demonstrate:
· High attention to detail including proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
· Ability to think strategically and execute methodically
· Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
· Demonstrated analytical and quantitative skills and ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and develop business cases
· Willingness to roll up your sleeves and do whatever is necessary; general manager / owner mentality
· Demonstrated ability to dive deep in understanding our business, our projects, and opportunities to improve the outcomes of our largest strategic projects and programs

Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· A completed Bachelor's Degree (Logistics/Supply Chain management, Industrial Engineering or Industrial and Systems Engineering or related fields) from an accredited university or 2+ years Amazon experience
· 7+ years of relevant experience and progressive responsibility in transportation operations or related fields
· Black belt in Lean and/or Six Sigma
· Lean/Six Sigma Engineering experience
· 25-50% travel required including international
