DESCRIPTION

Amazon is seeking a self-starting, personable, and detail-oriented Sr. HR Partner, G&A to join our growing HR Partner Team in support of Amazon's Finance, Legal and Global Corporate Affairs organizations. The successful candidate for this role will possess significant employee relations expertise, excellent judgment, and highly-developed analytical and communication skills.

Amazon HR Partners operate as the frontline consultant to people managers and are seen as subject matter experts because of their sound knowledge in company processes and policies, as well as their ability to offer a strong and compelling point of view around HR related matters. They are committed to collaboration with multiple HR leaders and people managers across the various businesses the team supports. Core responsibilities for this position include:

Onboarding and HR Administration
· Work with key stakeholders to design, deliver and constantly improve employee Onboarding in order to guarantee a positive Day 1/employee experience
· Partner with HR Services (HRS) to ensure that people transactions are processed timely and processes are continuously reviewed, improved and streamlined
Employee Relations / Performance Management
· Respond to inquiries from employees and managers
· Process ownership for Employee Relations management, including disciplinary & performance improvement & exit management
· Consult managers on people matters that require in depth knowledge of policies, procedures and local legislation, across multiple countries
· Coordinate with the legal department on ER matters and conduct investigations
· Manage the leaver process, including conducting exit interviews
· Work with people managers end to end on performance management cases (Pivot). This includes consulting on performance concerns, supporting managers when starting the process and finalizing separation agreements.
· Analyze data and trends on ER and performance management, in order to define a people management strategy that can prevent the recurrence of known issues
Talent Management
· Coach and guide managers during the annual review process, compensation planning and during off cycle and exception compensation requests, thanks to their deep knowledge of Amazon’s compensation philosophy.
· Consult Managers on “Dive & Save” requests. Understand the background to the request, analyze the team data (tenure, performance ratings, role criticality) and complete other necessary due diligence, pushing back where necessary.
· Help managers in leveraging existing tools to make the Talent Review process scalable and efficient
· Act as SME on the Talent Management process and its tools, deliver training and Q&A sessions to managers to build knowledge and ownership in the business.
People Development
· Enable the success of new & experienced managers by leveraging, delivering and improving existing training contents and Inside pages, and collaborating with the EU and global Talent Development teams to anticipate and address emerging needs
· Support managers and employees in identifying training opportunities, ‘lunch and learn’ circles and e-learning modules to further develop functional and managerial skills.
· Support people managers with career conversations, Development Plans/Career Growth Plans and other development initiatives
Organization and change management
· Manage employee engagement programs and support managers with tools or action planning to drive Connections improvements
· Provide support and guidance to HR Business Partners and Business Managers on change initiatives, execute change plans locally
· Lead the local communication and consultation process working with Legal, PR, and tax as appropriate. Provide the tools, framework, and support to ensure change initiatives are successful.
HR General
· Act as stewards of the employee experience and Amazon “culture keepers”
· Act as POC and Program Manager for people tools, processes, programs or projects. Manage implementation and review of those
· Design and deliver Manager Education Programs (Circles, ‘lunch and learn’, trainings, new leader assimilation etc.) to further drive collective education and Manager effectiveness
· Analyze data and observations across the organization, highlighting trends and recommending/driving solutions, as appropriate

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· At least ten years direct experience in employee relations, labor relations, or labor/employment law with an emphasis on employee relations work
· Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree, JD, or other specialized training in labor/employee relations a significant plus
· Solid understanding of federal and state employment & labor laws
· Experience in designing and delivering successful performance/coaching training programs
· Technically proficient in MS Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint
